Meet Peggy, one of our wonderful residents here at Woodcrest! Peggy called Covington, KY home and graduated from Holmes High School. One of seven siblings, Peggy has always been close with her family. She was married to her husband for 18 years until his passing, and although she never had children, she did have a beloved cat named Snowball. Peggy has always had a green thumb, spending years cultivating a garden filled with cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers, and watermelon. One of Peggy’s most memorable gardening experiences was working in the tobacco field; it was hard work but something she really enjoyed.
These days, Peggy shares a room with her brother, Joe, who was a resident at Woodcrest prior to Peggy’s arrival. They may bicker here and there, but Peggy takes wonderful care of him and wouldn’t dream of having any other roommate. She treasures their friendship along with many others she’s made at Woodcrest, especially with her best friend, Diana. Peggy loves going on outings and doing crafts.
Her advice to us all, especially the younger generation, is “never take time for granted- especially time with family.” We are so grateful to have Peggy’s warmth and wisdom as part of our Woodcrest family.
