This month we are excited for you to get to know Mike B. who has been a resident at Woodcrest since 2017. A little about Mike he was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky specifically West Liberty, Kentucky. While Mike was in high school, he played football where he achieved all state recognition and was invited to have dinner with the governor which was a very memorable experience for him!
After graduating high school, he went to college at Morehead State for a year and then transferred to the University of the Cumberland’s where he studied accounting.
Mike had an itch to move out of state and explore more and decided to relocate to Florida after college. He loved the warm weather and the breathtaking golf courses while he was living there. Mike lived in Florida for five years before moving back home to Kentucky. When he moved back, he settled down with his family and had two sons who he loved watching grow up and now has 3 grandsons! Mike is a huge sports fan and as a true native Kentuckian his blood bleeds blue for the University of Kentucky (GO CATS!). When he was able to get some free time to himself, he really liked going to the golf course where he could enjoy the peace and quiet outdoors.
Mike is loved by the staff and residents here at Woodcrest. He has a warm welcoming smile that brightens everyone’s day. His favorite part about being a resident at Woodcrest is the staff “There are great people who work here that give him great medical care but will also sit down and hold a conversation with me. It is a great community and that’s exactly what it takes for me to want to live somewhere.” He looks forward to going to therapy because it helps him stay active and gives him a place to be every day! Thank you, Mike, for letting us get to know you a little bit better!
