Dennis F. came to us in January of this year. He grew up in Philadelphia in a town called Glenside. Denny went into the army and traveled the world as captain of the photographic combat unit, which was his first professional job. He went on to teach the Department of Defense television to finish his army career. Following this, he became a camera operator at WAVE television in Louisville Kentucky, doing commercials and began his comedic acting journey. Denny started doing stand-up comedy and performing in various skits but ultimately left and headed to Hollywood to act in various TV series as well as commercials. You may have seen him on Falcon Crest, Quincy, and Simon and Simon. Meanwhile he was the first to own and run a camera crane that was 30 feet long, which is now used in everyday television. During this time, he filmed WWE for 9 years with that camera crane traveling to 2-3 cities a week. This allowed him to see places all around the world such as Canada, Europe, and London. Denny retired in San Diego at the age of 62 for 7 years before returning to Kentucky and finding his way to Woodcrest for therapy following a stroke. Like most things in Denny’s life, he has excelled in his therapy here and is now walking over 250ft and making major strides towards returning home. We are so proud of all of his hard work and are honored for him to call Woodcrest his home. It won’t be long until he returns to his home in the community, so if you see him in the hall, don’t be shy… you may even ask him for his autograph!
