Celebrated every July, it is a time to honor the history, achievements, experiences and struggles of people with disabilities. The landmark civil rights law: Americans with Disabilities Act was signed on July 26,1990 prohibiting discrimination based on disability. Noteworthy contributors were Stephen Hawking, Beethoven, Stevie Wonder, Marlee Matlin, Helen Keller and Franklin D. Roosevelt. We as a facility look to celebrate the seniors in our community by listening to their empowering stories of strength and diversity.
